Humulin 70 / 30 is a combination insulin that is an intermediate-dominant / short-acting insulin designed for people who have more of a need for blood sugar control between meals as compared to suppressing blood sugar spikes after meals. Regular insulin is absorbed more quickly to control blood sugar during and after meals while the intermediate-acting Insulin Isophane lasts longer in the body for optimized between-meal blood sugar control. Humulin 70/30 is typically dosed 2x-daily and each dose intended to cover 2 meals / meal and snack. Doctor may modify your dosage guidelines and you should always use this medication exactly as indicated in your medication.
Injection may be administered into one of 3 acceptable injection sites: back of upper arm / thighs / abdomen (excluding a 2” radius around navel).
